Galaxy S4 to recieve the Nexus makeover, unlocked stock Android for $649

Nexus GS4

By Andrew

If you were planning on picking up an unlocked Galaxy S4 to run on T-Mobile or AT&T, WAIT! DON”T DO IT! Google just announced that their next Nexus device will be an unlocked, completely stock Samsung Galaxy S4. That’s right, no bloatware, frequent stock Android updates, an unlocked boot loader, and best of all no Touchwiz.

There is a catch however. If you are really wanting the Nexus experience on a GS4 you’ll be paying handsomely. $649 handsome to be exact. $350 more expensive than the perfectly good Nexus 4, which is also unlocked and stock. However, unlike the Nexus 4, the S4 supports T-Mobile’s and AT&T’s LTE networks. Whether or not the GS4 is truly the next Nexus device remains to be seen. We think it is unlikely, as we are expecting announcements of an LTE Nexus 4, or possibly/hopefully the X Phone.

The 16GB stock variant of the GS4 will be available on June 26th.
